If you thought that "Mulholland Drive", or "Lost Highway" were pretty wacky, try this one for size.David Lynch is a true original and his Movies bear repeated viewing just because you find something new every time, and you have a better chance of interpreting what you think is going on the more you view them. This Movie has a very Strange Storyline: An Actress (Laura Dern) is ecstatic when she lands a part in a Movie. She meets the Lead Actor (Justin Theroux, a Regular of Lynch Movies) and the Movie slowly starts getting complicated with a link with a Russian Movie that was never made, and a strange visitor who seems to rather too much about Laura Dern's charactor. I have only seen this Film once so i will need further viewing to even think i know what is going on,but like many things patience will be rewarded as David Lynch's Movies are worth the time.Read full review
Another Lynchian nightmare... Any 'Happy go lucky' Hollywood blockbuster-type philistines, look away now. This film is dark, moody and unsettling. Happy endings are certainly a no no. Even the most hardy David Lynch fans may struggle with this one, unexplainable, slightly incoherent and definitely surreal. I loved it. Six feet rabbits from profound paranoid delusional states; bland talk shows encouraging even more bland applauses from the beyond. A young actress struggling with reality and, well, non-reality. Another uncertain ending; looped within a philosophical reel of dreams. Simply beautiful, yet horrifying.
Well, it's Lynch's film - it says it all. It's a higher schools of films and not for everyone; it's not mainstream, but made by one of the most influencial directors; there is no one other like David Lynch. Simple.
