Bought for my brother who was using an i5 2400 since 2014 with a gtx 750ti and couldn't really afford a full platform change so the old board an cpu paid for the new board so only had to buy the cpu, still had his 16gb ddr3 too. Since the move to the i7 he is pleased, playing Fifa18, F1 2018, Madden 19 all on high, very smooth gameplay. These older cpu's are great still, if you have 16gb of ddr3 and can't afford a whole platform change moving to Haswell is a good move depending what your coming from, boards are cheap too. Ebuyer still sells a couple 1150 boards brand new below £50. All in all, a good move from the i5 2400.

An easy and low cost upgrade option during the global hardware shortage. This was the fastest CPU I could fit in my current PC without replacing the motherboard. The i7 gives me a 20% performance boost over my old i5, which is pretty good for the money. I'd rather be buying a new PC, but this will keep me going until the supply picks up and I don't have the feed the scalpers.

I bought this to upgrade an i3 4310 which was performing poorly on parallel computing. It was easy to install but the motherboard was a bit tricky to update. Not only did the BIOS need updating, also the Intel Firmware. The CPU itself is very fast, almost as fast as a 4790k which costs quite a bit more. And it runs very cool. Overall I couldn't be happier.

Great powerful, ultra reliable processor. Upgraded to this from my i5 4690, piece of cake to change with no problems. Works perfect with my gtx 1060 gpu .
