IRON ROAD is a China-Canada TV co-production set during the epic construction of the coast to coast Canadian railroads. At the end of the 19th century, many Chinese attempted to escape from poverty by fleeing to North America, where they were employed as underpaid workers by the companies responsible for building the railroads. Among them is Little Tiger, a street urchin determined to find her father, who went missing in the Rocky Mountains. Very courageously, she pretends to be a boy and sails to the New World. Once there Little Tiger comes in touch with the inhuman reality in which her fellow Chinese workers are forced to live. She then finds herself falling in love with the most unlikely person; the railroad tycoons playboy son.
