This superb collection of the Belgian Rock'N'Rollers output between 1964 and 1966, including all the biggest hits. There are mainly cover versions, excellently translated into French (which in my opinion makes it a worthwhile addition to any fan of this genre of music), as well as those songs written especially for Johnny. Among the 'translated gems' are: 'Isaw her standing there', 'The House of The Rising Sun', 'Mr Lonely', 'In The Midnight Hour', 'Girl', 'Tell her Johnny said goodbye', 'Frankie and Johnnie',and 'Bring It On Home To Me' - as well as the favoured Chuck Berry covers - 'Carol', 'Forty days', and Johnny B. Goode. There is a rawness about johnny's music, yet a polished and exciting performance. I may be biased, but I would say that no collection of music from the late fifties and early sixties is complete without Johnny Halliday. Whether you speak French or not, you can still enjoy the music!Read full review
