A great example of a collaboration that worked, two of the best British folk performers of the last 30 years share this album from 1989. Tabor's voice shows that it always had the potential to become the force it has become. Martin Simpson's sheer virtuosity is a perfect foil. A lovely album.
It is almost impossible to overestimate this JT masterpiece-when she is at her best June is utterly without peer, and on this album she was at her greatest. Part of the albums charm is ably supplied by the Excellent Martin Simpson, but as always Junes vocals are what it is all about-from the jaw dropping ENTRACTE-Admiral Benbow-through the almost laugh-sung Flash Company,to the utterly AWESOME finale that is Unicorns, the album is thrilling and perennially fresh. Any negatives? Regrettably a couple of the arrangements could have done with a more minimalist approach, and it is pretty short. ALL IN ALL A FANTASTIC ALBUM-9 OUT OF 10!!!
