This is a great ereader. Kobos have a lovely build quality and reading screen. The best thing about choosing kobo as opposed to kindle is that you're free to buy books from different shops (feed, google, kobo, gutenberg) whereas amazon ebooks can only ever be read on a kindle (even their free public domain books). Also you can read library books on kobos as long as you have adobe editions (free software) on your computer. I also really like seeing the book covers in the menus and being able to set book covers to show on the lock screen. Personally i prefer the non-touch versions so that you cant accidentally turn the page, but touch screen functionality is obviously much better for menus and additional features. However, that said, this kobo touch is nice and compact (a better size than the original non-touch kobo wifi) with intuitive interface and a better page size than kobomini.Read full review

What's good - easy to read, and quite easy to adjust font size and line spacing to get what you want. Quick to download new books, and to sync with the Kobo desktop. What's less good - tends to re-boot from time to time for no obvious reason. "Extras" like annotations, dictionary and word search generally fiddly, so that I don't use them.

The first point to be absolutely clear about is this - it is an excellent e reader. The screen is great, the text size is easily adjustable and the touch screen lets you turn pages smoothly and easily. It is also well designed and can be comfortably read one handed even if like me you have small hands. The wifi works well to load books from the KOBO site and the selection there is good but personally when looking further afield for e books I find it easier to use a computer and simply drag and drop files onto the reader as the internet capability of the KOBO touch edition is not great . A further good thing is that this reader will handle a wide range of formats and I have used it in conjunction with my local library to borrow e books from their growing but still somewhat limited selection. Battery life is excellent but not as good as KOBO would have you believe as their figure is based on 30 minutes use per day which seems minimal to me. That said it is easily and quickly rechargeable either through your computer or with a charger. Overall the KOBO Touch Edition is a product that works well for me. It was easy to set up and get started, works extremely well when reading and has good design and build quality. I looked at other e readers before buying but they either involved selling my soul to Amazon or paying a lot more for the equivalent Sony product, I have no regrets about choosing the KOBO Touch Edition.Read full review
I have had the Kobo touch for about 3 months now and I love it. No more heavy books to carry on the train. It is easy to use and navigate round. The only reason I have not given it 5/5 rating is it occasionally freezes, but I think all electronic equipment does this from time to time. Also the battery life says a month but mine does not last that long, I do read a lot though so that is probably why. Still good battery life about 3 weeks. The kindle is cheaper but the touch screen makes it worth while.
More difficult to register than I had hoped, as I had to use a computer and the Kobo app does not work with XP either. Once registered however the device is a delight to use. Easy to read and navigate, and easy to transfer files to. It even has an SD card slot, although I have used only USB so far. Long battery life. Very pleased.
