Я купил диск для прослушивания в автомобиле Запись приличная сделанная с хорошим качеством, но настоящим любителям я бы порекомендовал винил /но хороший винил это весьма дорого/
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
Heard the song careless love for the first time on the radio, thinking it was so good I just had to buy the album, in my opinion that song is the best song on the album, but the rest of the album does not dissapoint. I will be buying more albums from Madeleine....
I HEARD THE SINGER ON THE RADIO AND LOVED HER SOUND. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SPELT PAYDU or PAYDUE ! BUT EBAY FOUND HER FOR ME!so i sent for the first album listed. VERY PLEASED ..A1 to ebay!
Soft, sultery, vocals open the record with a gentle but firm bass line keeping time and allowing you to just float away with Madeleine. With stron blues and jazz influences M. Peyreoux can draw you a long with smooth jazz verse and power them home with a mix of strong arrangments from a greatly talented selection of musicans in support. Using the support she has well she has crafted an album that manages to travel and bring in diverse styles without ever jarring and leaving you dis-jointed, wondering why that track was there. Showing that she has a mastery of the school of vinyl ablum making. Meaning she has a great hook but enough meat to make you want to turn over for side two but not so over-powering as to make the second side seem light and superficial when heard after the first. I know that makes little sense to those of you who have never used or own vinyl. I also know that this is a CD review but that is my way of describing album construction. If you don't have any of Madeleine's music yet i would highly recommend this album as a great way into her music and i wouldalso recommend it to someone who is just curious as to whether or not get into jazz, blues, etc. I would also recommend this album to those of you who have a hifi background, the production is good and the vocals are clean and natural with perfect support, better than most.Read full review
This is one of my favourite Jazz records of the past 12 months. Peyroux's voice has been compared to that of Billy Holiday and the resemblance is striking. One thing that seperates her from Holiday is her choice of songs. I was somewhat shocked by her cover of Dylan's "You're going to make me lonely when you go" and initially I disliked it, being an avid fan of Dylan's work. However, I soon came round to this new late night jazz treatment and it does actually work really well. The same goes for the opening track, Leonard Cohen's 'Dance me to the end of Love':- you can imagine yourself in a smoky jazz club listening to this! The perfect album to sit back, unwind and relax after a tiring day!
