It's a great album, I think, one of the most underappreciated that Mariah has released! I think it has some strong ballads, but it gets lost somewhere. However, MC gets lost lyrically in the beats and she needs to control that. I loved the candy bonuses like the photo of butterfly redone and the mini-Elle magazine! I bought this CD, because I heard it from a friend and it was amazing. The real thing though is better. I don't like all the tracks, but they sound so smooth in the ear. I really recommend this album.

Mariah finally seems to be getting back to impressive, after years of disappointment this album although still has the complimentary rapper guests does manage almost to shine. I like most of her tracks on this album but in the past she has sided to much with R'n B and allowed guest appearances to add interest to a very merging sounding music where tracks blend into one another. She has not relied on her own impressive voice and musical writing skills, but this album has what I feel is finally an example of where her voice is leading. There are some interesting new types of sound and arrangements of music, showing us that she still has that progressive drive and amazing insight to what is going to be the next new thing. Sadly unlike her albums up to Rainbow there will be tracks you dislike, her decision to have so many tracks and remixes does take away the total effect of the album. Perhaps limiting herself in the future to 12 to 14 tracks would unsure more quality. Its always telling what tracks a performer still talks about and which are put aside, I would hate to see Mariah continue with what I feel are filler songs that rarely if ever get performed. I would prefer her to simply record less tracks per album but then you can't hold back the creative process or maybe a better editor would be good. Well to sum up I'd say Mariah's fans are split in two, the ones from her earlier work who are still hanging in there and the new generation who do not hold on to any sentimentality and actively invite her continual foraging into the R'n B fields. Do what you do best which is beautiful ballads and progressive R'n B just even it out a bit more and you can't go wrong. A good buy to get back into her Music or to hear her progress as a composer and writer to date.Read full review
