Monk Season 3
Another wonderful series of Monk, played by the fantastic Tony Shalhoub. This season everything changes for Monk with a new assistant and a bit more independence. It's hard to say which is my favourite episode as they are all great but I think watching Monk cope on a gameshow was pure class!!
Monk -Season 3 - The defective Detective is back!
This is one of the stranger seasons - it is half way through this season that Monk's assistant changes and we lose the gorgeous Sharona. This was actually ebcause of pay disputes but the writer's said that they wanted to 'take the character in a new direction', which they do... for a little while... This has some classic episodes, such as the Gameshow episode (none of the other characters appear because of the same contract dispute) and the 'Employee Of The Month' episode which is hilarious and clever. Toward the end of the season, Monk's new assistant tries to make him a lot more independant - she doesn't put up with it! But this doesn't seem to wrk and was quickly changed back for the next season. THE HIGHLIGHT for me is the season finale - 'Mr. Monk and The Kid' - for anyone who is a fan but hasn't seen this, it is worth the money alone. We realise here just how good an actor Tony Shalhoub is. Not my favourite Monk season (season four followed on in much greater heights), but a worthwhile addition none the less. Four nicely presented dvd's, a few small extras and attractive packaging - very entertaining!Read full review
Monk - Series 3(DVD)
Absolutely love Monk - have always loved watching him on tv but on infrequently - wasn't until my partner bought the first 2 series for me I realised could watch him anytime I want (doh!). After watching them' found the third series on ebay and it lived up to expectations. Monk is a private detective (who is a consultant to the police) plagued by obsessive compulsive behaviour which permeates into every aspect of his life but are a constant source of amusement to the viewer. He is like a selfish child at times but always comes through for his friends when they need him, even if he as to do something he doesn't like, and he always solves the case! Would recommend to anyone to watch this series and defy them not to recognise some obsessive behaviours in friends and family. Tony Shalhoub plays the main character to perfection.Read full review
