My shield is being made at the dentists being made currently but due to covid there is a bit of a wait but i have a issue with clenching whilst asleep. So i thought i would help myself by finding something to tie me over. It took a while to get the moulding right but once i got my head around it it fit my teeth perfectly. I got it hot via a boiled kettle, left it in for 15 20 seconds took it out and started to mould it a little with my fingers before putting it in my mouth. You have to work quickly mainly behind your teeth to mould it but once its set you can re head it to carry on. I only messed up once and had to rehead it briefly to continue to remould the back teeth.

I couldn't get along with these, I followed the instructions and used a jam thermometer to get to the recommended temperature, but the gum shields are too thick to mould around your teeth, they are also quite bulky, I wouldn't be able to sleep with both of these in my mouth. There is a reason that Dentist's charge a lot for these but at least they are custom made, I would not recommend these but not expensive if you still want to give them a try, not everyone had the same issues as myself.

Had a few guards over the years and followed these instructions exactly. Pretty much the same as others. First of all I placed it in boiling water and when (as advised) I used a wooden spoon to scoop out the mouth guard the holding flap at the front became attached to the mouth guard as it curled up and aided by the spoon as I scooped it out! Damaged the guard as I pulled it apart. After placing in my mouth it was an average fit and felt small with some of my back teeth not covered. I repeated the process and no better results. After cutting off the holding flap (or whatever you wish to call it) there was a very rough edge which might affect your gum line. I used the second guard this time holding it in freshly boiled water by the flap. Much better results than scooping with a spoon! But still an average fit and again small. And again a very rough finish to the middle front after removing the "flap" with scissors. AND there is no case! Every other guard I bought has a storage case. Where do they expect you to store this? Back in the cardboard box every morning? Luckily I have mouth guard cases from previous purchases. A guard without any cutting and a case will be my next purchase. Ultimately I'd not buy this type again. Is this a 5* product? NO...Read full review

Took a while to get this right, I don't think I had the water hit enough. After a few attempts, I left them in longer than the 15 seconds it suggests and am now happy with it. Don't bin these, I was tempted to throw them away, just persevere, have the water a little hotter and leave for longer and they will be great. Thanks
