I actually received a Netgear DG834GT not the DG834G advertised. I thought nothing of this until configuring it I discovered a bug (reported online by many others) which prevents WPA2 wifi security being turned on. Happily I need one wireless router to offer Open wifi, without security, for a specific standalone project, so this purchase suited my needs. It also led me to look more closely at another Netgear DG834GT I own, to discover it was broadcasting unsecured access to my network, so it led to me fixing a hole in my security. So in this case, I'm a happy bunny, but beware if you seek a Netgear DG834GT to create a secure wifi network.

Great product i dont think you can get better for the money and it is faster than most modern broad band routers on our system! Brilliant Thanks
at started done update via web interface, failed, so dont recomend this way, but menage to get it up (many guides on net how to), using dg team firmware now. while i dont have big comparision with other products for standart isp replacement its a perfect one (especially o2/be i heard). got it as replacement for o2 box II, now trying to tame it with cli (o2 box) to connect to netgear which is far superion as a modem(if this wont work out ill grab another netgear and set it easly within 10-20min most propably). standart firmware is already good, but dg team expand it even furhter so now i can set my own SNR (which is the biggst reason i bought it) and many other smaller and bigger thigs (hard to mention all of them). as for the price, i got it for 10, most propably u will get anything between 20-30 which is still good. and still a bargain if u want a cheap upgrade. whilie it might not bring ur SYNC speed any faster, it will let u take a full control where u need it unlike most of those isp routers. check Versions of it before u buy, there r 5 at present each differ a bit. mine is v4 with broadcom chipset. summarising, if u want a cheap router, get this one, it will be well spent money. there r couple betters ones on market but each will cost u about twice as much. eventually u can get GT version if that suits you, its pretty same as v4, only tad diffrent. :)Read full review
