Wanted to upgrade to an S...SD to speed up all basic disc functions, increase reliability and reduce power consumption. Bought an OCZ because there was an OCZ upgrade kit available and I had heard about compatibility problems when installing SSDs.Boot time reduced by 75%, Login and open reduced by 66%, Logout and close reduced by 11%. Very easy and quick to install, no problems at all. Too early to tell about power consumption or reliability. An SSD is the best value for money upgrade assuming you have adequate RAM in the first place (I have 3GB in a Dell D630)
Am building a new PC & decided to use an SSD as the boot drive,... with a conventional HDD as mass storage. It is light, quiet & cool running, and as easy to use as a conventional HDD. Compared to other drives it is very quick - a very satisfactory item.
I used it as a primary drive for win 7 with a i5 1155 a...srock z68 system Good points: Quick in booting up... Applications (eg MS Excel) would start instantly... Looks nice, brushed metal finish... Bad points no mounting bracket... windows would freeze (for 1 or 2 seconds) every hour or so... product failed totally after 3 weeks. (would not boot up, and the drive was no longer recognised in Bios)...
Time will run and you will ...loose your data...
