I was dubious to what all of the fuss was about with VR but as a competitive sim racer the time was now here to take it up a notch. Well what can I say? From the set up and the introductory stuff that shows you what it is capable off I was quite simply mind blown. Its a different world. Literally....and I havent even started racing with it yet. In car is, as if you are, in car. Hurtling 200mph down Paul Ricard in a BMW m6 GT3 couldnt be any more realistic if it were, well, realistic. If you are wondering, or contemplating buying one of these things then do it!! Its awesome.

Awesome bit of kit, love the option of having full 360 degree tracking by just adding another sensor. It would be 5 stars if it wasn't for Facebook/Oculus stopping support and replacements for the fragile cable that links the headset to your pc. For anyone who's cable has broke it can actually be cheaper to pickup another 2nd hand full setup than a brand new replacement cable now as they are so rare and sought after.

I love my rift, it's so immersive. Especially if you connect a third sensor and set up room scale. Although you need a lot of USB ports, and a decent PC to run it. The touch controllers are so intuitive to use and fit so much better in the hand than the vive wands. Would recommend.

If you have never tried VR and have a PC that meets the recommended requirement than this is the gear for you. Blows you away the first time you try it. I was upgrading my PC from an GTX960(OC 4G) to an GTX1070Ti, it worked with both for most demos with no real issues with the minimum spec card but games like Fallout 4 need the higher performance card. Basic PROS: Great Gaming experience. It works With Steam and Facebook so you get more games than the VIVE and some times both are available and one site is lower cost. The HW is fairly simple to get working. Basic CONS: It checks the SW every time it starts, if this fails (Which it did Once) you may have to reload the software or even worse wait for and update. You need a PC that meets the requirements. It does work with Glasses but only just, I now use contacts for gaming and this works fine. Condensation due to heat when playing but I think all headsets suffer from this. The software download is 5GB to get you started and then the games are in the 1GB-10GB range, all have to be downloaded. Read full review

Comparing this to the buggy/faulty Rift S and Vive/Vive Pro, it outperforms all of them. Vive users need to do Lens Mod while Rift users don't. Your controllers are also comfortable and have a wrist strap built-in to make sure you don't throw them off (if you play Beat Saber). Unlike Vive controllers, they are not like Wii controllers that easily fall off your hands. I recommend this to anyone who wants to play VR on a budget, or not on a budget. I VERY highly recommend going Oculus Rift CV1.
