The TX-49EX600B is a low budget 4K smart TV. The picture quality is average for a TV in this price range. 4K is sharp and detailed, but is a little flat and does get a little blurry with fast moving images. HDR barely makes any difference. 1080p quality is good, but not as good as my previous Panasonic model it replaced, which is annoying. It's smart features are very good with built-in 4K Netflix / Amazon, FreeviewPlus and an easy to use interface. However, the in-built Netflix at 4K produces random artifacts and breaks in the image. This must just be the in-built app though as watching 4K Netfix on my Nvidia Shield TV is faultless. It is a little lacking in connectivity as there are only 3 HDMI inputs, not 4 like on my previous 2 models. There is also no Scart. I was originally looking for a 4K smart TV for under £700 and was considering the 50EX700, but many reviews highlight multiple issues with that model which is why I settled for the EX600. Overall the quality is about on par with the 55" Hisense which costs only £500, which for a brand like Panasonic is rather poor. I have purchased Panasonic TV's for the last 20+ years and this is the first one to disappoint. If you can find it for around £500 then it's worth considering if only for the smart features, otherwise I would recommend similar priced models from LG or spending more on the EX750 series. Hopefully, for Panasonic's next budget model line-up they will get their act together.Read full review

Tele is fab so far, no complaints. This replaced an older Sony 40", and due to the size of the surround is not much bigger, which pleases the wife. The only negative I had was there was no power cable supplied, so after unpacking I had to go out and purchase a new 5amp figure 8 cable!

Superb television all round but then that's to be expected. Having said that Panasonic made a version of this tv exclusively for Currys and just changed the model number from tx 49ex600b to tx 49ex580b. They did this so Currys didn't have to do price matches and promises but it has actually back fired on both Panasonic and Currys. I don't like the fact Currys wanted a Currys only Panasonic tv so they could tell their customers that this is the ex600b made exclusively for them and therefore they can sell it a little cheaper than other retailers. The fact is it is a really inferior tv than the ex600b anyway and the cheaper price Currys charges for their model is way over priced. Their model the 49 ex580b is cheaper quality all around. The tv case is cheap plastic the feet don't move in different positions like the 49 ex600b does and they are also made in black cheap plastic where as the ex600b has crime coloured plastic feet that seem more sturdy and go in multi positions. The picture on Currys ex580b is dreadful despite it being a 4k tv. When I say dreadful I am not exaggerating you could get a better picture on a cheap Chinese import like Tescos own brand called technika. I bought a Currys Panasonic 49 ex580b and thought it was faulty and sent it back but have seen the picture on a few other ex580b tv's and it's dreadful on those too. I believe all the Currys versions of this tv are either faulty or they are just so cheaply made that they are crap. Possibly Panasonic may have subcontracted the manufacture of the Currys tv as they used to use different manufacturers years ago when companies had quotas on how many tv tubes they could import into the UK. Because panasonic sold a lot of tv's they had to use other companies to produce their products so they could use their import quotas to bring tv's in to the UK. Having said all that this Panasonic tv the 49 ex600b is absolutely superb the picture even on ordinary freeview digital aerial is superb and through a sky box is even better with the 4k picture. The case feet etc also exude quality. I have bought this one and I gave absolutely no complaints about it at all.Read full review
