Actually, it was the first Weller album from his conteporary career I got. And I really got hooked, bought few more, including the 22 dreams, but this one is still my favourite. I guess, it's hard to say anything you about his eclectic style. To me the most interesting feature of this style is clearly visible touch of classic soul in the traditional rock sound. Which works pretty well. I have rather strange feeling about Weller's music. He's deffinetely not a hit maker, he's more of a storyteller. He's not a creator of memorable melodies, it's more the general feeling about an album that hits you. But you need to give at least couple of times to spin the whole album to start appreciating it. I value this album because it just feel better than the other - it gets you faster, it's more varied (or eclectic) and it has the beautiflu "Come on / Let's go" which immediately became one of my favourite tunes.Read full review
