To be honest I ordered a QYT KT-8900D but received a Bluskysea KT-8900D which wasn't the one listed but seeing as it's well made I haven't complained about it. It was easy to fix it in place using the fittings that are provided which are good quality. It took me a while to get my head around how to program it using PC software such as chirp which does support this radio but oddly found it more difficult to use than the official QYT software. The settings menu that you can access from the keypad on the microphone is excellent because it covers 57 settings blocks containing display colours, modulation strength meter, emergency channel, tail tone ect. I really like the four channel colour display which has a good little feature that changes the colour of the text when it's received a signal letting you know that it's previously been active which it does on all four channels if especially if the scan mode is on. The Rx audio is excellent but it can be improved further by plugging an extension speaker in at the back. I find the TX audio output to be a little bit quieter than I would like but it is clear and doesn't have any adverse effect on modulation. The microphone is a good handful and nicely shaped which gives it a quality feel as do the silicone rubber buttons which are also illuminated for low light conditions. Last but not least I particularly like the additional rotary volume knob and and channel change knob which is also used for navigating the menu. Having said all that it looks great and the cost is great so I'm very pleased with the radio 👍Read full review

i FOUND THAT THE RADIO WAS WELL CONSTRUCTED, RAN SMOOTHLY AND KEPT COOL UNLIKE IT'S FIRST GENERATION. IT IS EASY TO PROGRAMME AND TRANSMITTED AND RECEIVED AUDIO REPORTS ARE FIRST CLASS. I DID BLOW THE FINALS. I AM NOT SURE IF IT WAS MY FAULT OR A POORLY PROTECTED RADIO. I GOT THE CHANCE TO SEND IT BACK FOR A REFUND BUT DECIDED TO KEEP THE RADIO AND AN EXCITER FOR A DIGITAL GATEWAY. I MAY EVEN TRY TO REPLACE THE FINAL TRANSISTORS. VALUE FOR MONEY. YES.

For well under £100, you simply can't go wrong! Okay, so they can be a little more susceptible to interference than their far more expensive rivals, but for everyday use, they're brilliant. In fact, I was so impressed, that I bought a second one and a duplexer; monitoring 4 2m frequencies on one, and 4 70cm on the other. They're simple to programme using CHIRP. Audio quality is fine, but you can plug in your preferred speaker if you choose. You can set the RF meter to work as a modulation meter when you transmit, which is really helpful for any operator I highly recommend this radio!
