I’ve already written three novels and wanted a different way to explore planning a new novel. It’s a unique book and is full of activities to work through to help you plan. I gave it 4/5 stars rather than 5/5 because I found that some things didn’t apply to me or I didn’t want to fill some things in because they didn’t interest me. I think the book is better for someone who thinks they want to write and hasn’t got an idea to build on yet. The book is excellent but wasn’t right for me to plan my novels. It’s back to a simple, plain notebook for me.

It doesn't claim to make miracles happen, though it near enough does. You can dive in at any stage of your writing process and find something to get you thinking (or thinking about thinking). Can be worked through linearly, or dip in and out as needed. This is designed as a notebook - don't expect pages of text! I'm using it for reference and filling out a separate notebook so I can use it again each year for nanowrimo. Good fun, with real down to earth practical advice. Definitely recommend (especially for those with no clue what to write!).
