My wife is an Ian Rankin /Rebus fan so I bought this for her, although I read it too. I've read a couple of Rebus books but they weren't my cup of tea so I won't be reading any more. This book told me more about Ian Rankin than it did about Rebus's Scotland and while interesting in a way it was not what I expected or wanted. The photos are monochrome and are in most cases arty-farty, blurry, deliberately out of focus shots which could have been taken anywhere in the country. To summerise: If you want to know more about the author Ian Rankin, then you would probably enjoy this book. If you want to know more about the John Rebus character, then keep your money in your pocket.
