The samsung galaxy note was a very useful phone, it was a nice change from the restrictions of an apple iphone, on android you have a LOT more freedom to use it as you wish, it was like having a small computer. everything was set into foders, much like a PC, you had the music folder where you could add music at will (either form the computer or you can download directly from the internet on the phone) rather than through itunes, same for movies, and pictures, the android is more complicated than the iphone but in a more beneficial way, i was happy about it being more complicated. the size was a small problem, the screen was far too large to use with one hand, the "back button" for the internet was at the top next to the URL line, it was not easy to reach seeing as the screen is large and it is a button that is commonly used. but the large screen was good for movie, and games which i spend most of my time doing anyway. The S pen was ok. where you actually tap on the screen and where the screen thinks you've tapped is slightly off i'd say 3mm to the left, and for sketching this made it difficult, but a good feature nonetheless. overall the samsung galaxy note is a good phone but it may be too large for some users.Read full review
The phone is easy to use and the large screen is great for texting and emailing. The camera takes good quality photos. It is like a tablet but easier size wise for carrying arpund. Only thing not good is battery life, u can buy a bigger one but it is more bulkier and u get a battery cover with it. .
I bought this phone mainly for the screen size and in the hope I could more easily read text in emails, sms, web pages etc. My previous phone was a HTC ChaCha, which has a small screen and minute text which made it very difficult to read. I migrated from Blackberry phones which I had used for years mainly for business purposes and had the advantage of the excellent keyboard. With the Galaxy Note I had reservations regarding the the on-screen keyboard, which on other phones I had tried previously were difficult to type accurately and quickly (I had an IPhone for a while but didn't like it at all). The large screen makes on-screen typing much easier and especially when the phone is in landscape position as the keys are much larger and spaced out, thereby making it easier to hit the right key. For me this is a major plus. You can adjust the text size in most applications to a size that suites you and this is another major plus for me. I have tried quite a few apps and all seem to work well on the excellent screen which has a very high resolution. It connects to the web via WiFi really well and works very fast and so you are not hanging around waiting for downloads. Sound is excellent and loud enough without earphones. Movies and all media works excellently. So just about everything is excellent, except I have some reservations about using the pen and trying to hand write in the notes apps and it turning into typed text. It is very laborious and for me much easier and quicker to use the keyboard. However to scribble a quick note its ok, I guess. The voice command is brilliant. I have not had time to try all the things the phone is able to do, but so far I find this phone very good indeed. The one thing I am not happy with is the Kies back-up to your pc which is very difficult to set up and get working.Read full review
Moved to the Note from HTC One X, reason being I use my phone quite often as a sat nav and preferred the larger screen. Phone is fast for web browsing, not much slower than the HTC. Good for browsing web/ viewing photos or watching video. Screen is good but not the best on the market, HTC was slightly better. Battery life is ok. Was good initialy though slightly worse since upgrading to ICS. I get roughly a day and a half with approx. 10 mins calls/ 20 texts and around 1/2 - 1 hours web browsing by which time I have around 30% left.
Overall very happy with the product. I wanted a larger phone as I use it for reading emails a lot while away from a computer. The android interface is easy and intuitive, and what I was used to anyway. Impressed the battery life too, which is no shorter than my previous, much smaller, phone. On the downside, and like many phones, it come with a number of Apps I don't want and can't get rid of.
