This is an interesting documentary. The footage is pretty good and despite the fact that I have seen quite a lot of war documentaries, a lot of the stuff I never saw before. The description of the developments during the Winter War and later after the German attack on Russia are well explained and supported by maps
This DVD covers the Russian invasion of Finland and the build up to it, and the invasion of Norway by the German army. I thought I knew a bit about Scandinavian history, but I learnt a lot from this fascinating DVD. The involvement of the British army in Norway was a lot greater than I realised, and the DVD also delves into the motivations of a variety of politicians and army commanders on all sides of the wars. There is a huge amount of archive footage and I found watching the DVD in instalments was necessary to take in the wealth of information. An excellent and recommended buy for anyone interested in the history of Scandinavia or the 20th century.
