This new title is a comprehensive study of the past 500 years of Scottish-Polish interaction, focussing primarily on early modern experiences of Scottish traders and diplomats and Polish presence in Scotland in the 20th century. Tom Devine is the Sir William Fraser Chair of Scottish History and Palaeography at the University of Edinburgh, widely acknowledged to be the world's premier Chair of Scottish History, and also Director of the Scottish Centre of Diaspora Studies and Head of School. He is the author or editor of some two dozen books, including the international bestseller The Scottish Nation. David Hesse holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and currently works as a journalist for a leading Swiss newspaper.
