I love Scrabble so when I saw this, I had to get it! Game play is smooth and fairly quick (when playing against the computer opponent, Maven). You can choose Maven’s level from Novice to Grand Master (and about six levels in between) and they all seem to accurately represent themselves. You can also play small, three-game tournaments for the best overall score. Two or more human players can be interesting because you can see the other player’s tiles which I think forces more strategically placed words. I rated this game as Good and not Excellent because switching between grabbing tiles, placing them and zooming in and out to view the board could have been set up a bit better, in my opinion. Also, for a cool game like this, the look of it on the screen isn't as exciting as I think it could be - maybe the tiles could flip onto the board or add some sound effects - something more exciting could happen when you use all tiles or score more than 50, 60, 70 points in one turn, etc. It feels and looks a bit like the "cellphone the size of a brick" technology instead of one the size of a credit card that you can watch video on, if that makes sense. Why should you have the actual Scrabble board game laying in your closet when you can play it as a video game. The letters on the tiles are large enough to see, you can navigate around the board to find where you can put down your next word, and the music and sound effects are really cool! Best of all, you don't need a dictionary to look for actual words you think are not allowed. The game even keeps track of how many points you score with the words you lay on the board. I bought this because of all my kids' PS1 and PS2 games, this is the most fun for me to play with them. I love how the game lets you know if words are correct or not, and the word definitions help increase all our vocabulary. The hints make it easy for my six year old to play.
