A fairly good movie to see, When a marine scientist finds out is friend is killed by a shark, he starts to investigate his death and finds out that a greedy land owner is behind the mysterious shark attacks. A good movie with the actor from Starship Trooper in the starring role, with fairly good action and adventure also very good thriller too. I got this to see if it is a good movie to see, it is a fairly good movie to see. 7.3/10 Movie.
I wasn't really expecting much from this movie, considering that I picked it out of a bargain bin for £1.00! But I am fascinated by sharks, so if a movie has got sharks in it I've got to give it a go! As movies go, it wasn't exactly terrible - I've seen alot worse. At least the sharks were real ones - not rubber mock-ups - and these were cut into shots of people swimming - or screaming and thrashing about! Unfortunately, because there was no real contact between the sharks and people, you don't pick up on any feeling of menace or danger, particularly since the lead character was constantly jumping into the water to save a victim or look for clues. Despite its obviously rubber shark, 'Jaws' managed to convey a far deeper feeling of menace. The acting left alot to be desired too. Casper Van Dien was particularly wooden, delivering his lines with all the enthusiasm of a concussed bean. The best actor by far was Tony Caprari as Mani. Don't get me wrong, he's not a great actor, but at least he tried to inject some life and enthusiasm into the part. My biggest gripe though has to be the fact that no one bothered to research shark habits before making this movie. Since when do Great White Sharks inhabit freshwater rivers?! To be honest, the plot didn't hold my attention at all. I constantly wandered off in search of sweets or to make a drink, only to find that I hadn't missed much when I came back! So in conclusion, 'Shark Attack' isn't a terrible movie - (if you want terrible, watch 'Terror Beneath Loch Ness'! Or better still, don't!) It is, at least, watchable, but only if you're at your wit's end, slightly drunk and there is absolutely, positively nothing else available! You have been warned!Read full review
