SHOT IN BOMBAY is an innovative documentary film that invites you behind the scenes of Bollywood's glamour and gloss, to explore the rise of Bombay's underworld and the film industry's reaction to it. The film is split into three correlative threads; a background account of Bombay's criminal past narrated by retired police officer A. A. Khan, the making of high-octane gangster movie SHOOTING AT LOKHANDWALA, and a profile of its star, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. What makes this story all the more interesting is Dutt's involvement in a high-profile terrorist trial, in which he stands accused of participating in India's largest terrorist attack. As the actor desperately longs to clear his name, the filmmaking team are just as desperate to complete their film before their lead is sentenced.
