Sigma 10-20 F/4.0-5.6 is a very good super wide angle lens for the price, probably the best you can get for the money second hand for APS-C camera (it doesn' work on a full frame, like all Sigma DC lenses). Build quality is very good, very solid feel with excellent manual focus ring action, smooth with just the right amount of resistance. It's a full time override, i.e. you can use the manual focus in auto focus mode. The focus ring does not rotate so you can override the auto focus instantly. Autofocus is quick and silent. Sharpness and contrast wide open are very good edge to edge. There is flare at 4.0 when you have the sun in the shot, but this flare almost disappears already at 4.5. I haven't noticed any major vignetting yet, I don't think it has too much of it. Barrel distortion is negligible and is only visible when you have straight vertical lines going all the way from top right edge to bottom right edge (or top left to bottom left). If you tilt the camera slightly so that these lines are not completely vertical any more, the barrel distortion becomes undetectable. The only reason I would replace the Sigma 10-20 with another super wide angle lens is the maximum aperture. There is the Tokina 11-16 2.8 constant aperture lens that would be the best choice for video or low-light photography on APS-C sensor. For architecture, outdoor and general purpose super wide angle lens the Sigma 10-20 is a very good choice especially on the used market, but if you want to shoot video in low light with it just know its limits and be prepared to use noise reduction in the editing stage.Read full review
I've only had this lens a short time, and not really had a chance to take landscape photos etc with it. However, I've done a few test shots with it on my Nikon D5000, ease of use, and picture quality appear to be very good!
