A review of more than 2000 songs from over 70 anthologies, written to address the needs of choir directors and voice teachers of young singers. It lists songs by title and by composer, and the anthologies in which they are found, and classifies them as Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced.
J. Arden Hopkin is Head of Vocal Studies at Brigham Young University and teaches studio voice and vocal pedagogy in the School of Music. Outside the university he directs the Wasatch Chorale of Provo, Utah and the Utah Valley Choral Society as well as serving as a frequent vocal and choral clinician. As an oratorio soloist, his voice has been heard around the world on the Armed Forces Radio Network performing the Messiah with the Lake Charles, LA, Symphony.
