It's amazing how film footage from this concert has been allowed ...to sit locked away in a safe since 1974. It contains previously unrealeased top class performances from artists who were at the peak of their careers at the time including James Brown,Bill Withers,The Crusaders,The Pointer Sisters and the much underated Detroit Spinners. These were blended with some suprisingly good home grown African acts whose own careers would have no doubt benefited from this concert being released a lot earlier and some very good interviews with the great man of boxing ,Muhammad Ali. In my opinion the only down side to this film is that too much time is devoted to the organisation and setting up of the concert. This meant that each of the acts were restricted to one set each when in reality there must have been much much more from them since this concert was spread over 3 days. Perhaps we shall be lucky in the future and have more of the actual concert footage released. I promise to be at the front of the queue if it is !! Finally to anyone who enjoyed these acts in the 70's this is a must have DVD. If your new to them it's still very much worth buying. Enjoy Mel Harvey
