Original Soundtrack - 24 Hour Party People (CD 2002)
I was an extra in 24hr Party People, so having the soundtrack adds to my nostalgic tendencies, being as I also frequented the Hacienda! What the late great Tony Wilson wrote about the soundtrack, was awesome too, bless his soul. Music is my first love, this is a must for people into post-punk and dance music alike, I'm very pleased with my purchase!
ok but not great
not bad but a bit mixed up and didn,t really follow any pattern the music was all that you expect and good but lacked a album strengh i havn,t seen the film so i coudn,t tell you if it is a good film score
24 Hour Party People - Oh yes we were
For those of a certain age, of a certain disposition and those who cannot resist Steve Coogans interpretation of Tony Wilson, this LP brings it all back. Loaded from the start and taking nostalgic rewritten history to the nth degree, this is how everybody would like to make us think that canonising Ian Curtis and elevating Shaun Ryder to mystical status is what passes for reality in 21st Century UK. That said, the songs on this are great from the Pistols to the Mondays and Joy Division to obviously New Order. But it is a soundtrack toone of the funniest films you'll ever see, worth it just to spot the cameos from all and sundry. Nostalgic certainly, but definitely, definitely maybe. Get the DVD.
Perfect soundtrack to a great film. True to the time, and true to Madchester! Having it large style. If you havent seen the film, do it.
