This is Edward G. Robinson's final movie, as the star died not long after filming his final scene. Based on Harry Harrison's "Make Room! Make Room!"

An unjustly-neglected, well-acted and powerful film.
I hadn't seen this... film before I bought it, a friend told me about it. It's very interesting and certainly entertaining. The story-line is gripping and the presentation works very well. The blood is strangely unreal, but then I haven't read the book: perhaps it's supposed to be like that. The film definitely makes me want to hunt down a copy of the book to get the full story. I'm surprised the film doesn't get more airplay on the television. It's also quite difficult to get a Region 2 version on DVD!

Interesting, will make you think.
I did see Solyent Green when I was younger... and remember being very taken with it, I bought it to see if my memory of it is correct. Very good film and I hope that our world does not end up in such a state. The death scene of Edward G Robinson was heartbreaking, as he had so little time left himself, but it was also very peaceful. Definitely recommend!
