Hard to believe the sound q...uality that can be had for under £30 nowdays. Yes, they're a simple old-school headphone that major on sound quality, so no noise cancelling, no wireless etc - just a length of cable with a plug at the end. For me, comfort is good. The construction and appearance are OK but nothing special, however, these 'phones are all about fidelity. I would guess these sound more accurate than any competing headphone up to treble the price - possibly more. In terms of sound quality, they have a neutral tonal balance with no obvious vices. The bass extension is exceptional - clean and well-balanced - but it can be a little disconcerting (as it was for me) if you're not accustomed to hearing real sub-bass. These 'phones benefit from, and really deserve, a quality source. They're pretty comfortable too. I'm told that some folk still believe the old marketing hype that "you get what you pay for". Well with these gems, you get a heck of a lot more than you paid for. Exceptional value. Although the Superlux name may be unfamiliar to many (including me), I've read that they are a well-established outfit who make OEM headphones for others to brand as their own. Clearly, Superlux know what they're doing. Warning - don't check out the extensive and comprehensive RTINGS headphone reviews to see where the Superlux HD681sits in the pecking order if you've already purchased an expensive set!

I have been listening to these headphones for hours now an...d boy do they sound great. Listening to the headphones through your smartphone might not give the oomph (classical music) but it has a nice wide soundstage. Playback of other genres (pop, r&b and etc) of music is fine on my smartphone and laptop. Highs are clear, mids are great and the bass is fine even sub-bass is adequate for a semi-open back headphone, though people who are used to bassy headphones might want to look at other headphones. Playing though a soundcard helps with volume and gives even more clarity. Comfortable, good quality build for the price and fairly light (great for hours of enjoyment) Great packing too, came in a nice big box with multiple layers of bubble wrap. I would say these headphones are great for studio monitoring, gaming, casual listening. Thumbs up Update: The audio jack has some issues now, has to be bend in a certain direction for audio to not crack. But I still stand by the fact that with that sorted it is the best sounding pair of headphones I've ever purchased.

We now have two pairs of these! Large ove...r-ear design means they're comfortable for wearing for longer periods, and the sound quality is very good. Light but not flimsy. A good buy! NB re studio recording: I wouldn't use them in my studio to record with a click track, because a little sound does leak out -no problem at all for normal monitoring/domestic use, but a loud click track *might* ghost onto any audio you're recording. I'd use my DT100s when recording a click track, but these sound nicer- and are lighter- than the DT100s!

Amazing sound quality, bassy without get...ting muddy, the response sounds even across the whole spectrum - perfect for use at home (I have mine plugged into a computer), cable is long enough to lean back from the screen Not ideal for portable/public use though - they're quite bulky, and lots of sound spills out so they're loud for whoever's next to you

Probably the best kept secret in the audio wor...ld, these headphones have stunning sound quality and are very detailed, you may need to tweek the EQ a little to how you like to listen though They work very well with DTS:X especially using the settings for the AKG K240studio headphones which these sound very close to. The weight is very low and they do not clamp hard to your head meaning you can wear them for a long time without discomfort, this does mean they bleed some sound (to be expected with open back headphones) so they are not great for out and about however this does make for a very expansive sound stage. I have professional monitor earphones and Studio headphones that have cost me far more but these seem to be what I use the most. If you are used to a lot of bass then it sounds odd when first wearing but after about a minute then they just become immersive and pretty well balanced At the price I paid it would be criminal not to have a pair next to me
