Have only used it a few times so too early to really judge if it is reliable but so far it has been very good. We take ash out of our food smoker so the particles are very fine. You do have to keep the filter clean but this is fairly easy and you must dry it - preferably overnight. I would suggest that the manufacturers make other tools to adapt the nozzle as you could scratch delicate items with the metal pipe. This does not matter to us as we use it in the metal smoker. Not the quietest piece of kit but would recommend it to anyone with dirty jobs to do. Great value for money

Easy to put together and operate. However I found out that after a minute or 2 of use it started to make a strange noise and started to smell like burnt plastic. When I opened it there was nothing in the bottom of the canister however all the ashes gathered around the filter. Not very easy to clean the filter but after 5 minutes and using a nail to get the ashes out of the ridges in the filter, it started working again. It took me some 30 minutes to clean the ashes. Great suction once cleaned. Perhaps I should have gone for a more expensive product...

Seems perfect for my needs . I have two solid fuel fires an 100 year old mark 1 rayburn in the kitchen and a stove in the room They are both very dirty so the vac saves me using the brush and pan and ruining my normal vac Of course the filter blocks up you can't expect it not too but easy to clean
