The second addition to t...he fantastic Original Tenchu. This was the PlayStations only real stealth ninja game available at the time, and it was great . You get your high scores , ratings and weapons by killing quietly , unseen and clinical. For example, play the game like a true silent assassin and the rewards are great, play the game Rambo style and you won't survive to see the end of the level. So patience is needed to time your kills , move around on rooftops and sneak around crouched. Know all your surroundings before you go in for the kill , make sure your kill is alone or you could be walking into trouble The game will encourage you to repeat levels so your perfect scores can be achieved, hence it has along jeopardy. It will also encourage you kill without being seen as this looks far more spectacular than getting into a fight with your enemy. The first TENCHU was a true masterpiece , the story, and level layouts were second to none and with the finest and most addictive soundtrack you will ever here on any game in the 1990's. So it was a hard act for Activision to follow this up in TENCHU 2 and they couldn't. Hence why I have rated this 4/5 and the first TENCHU 5/5. As good as this game was , it was never the great game like the first one was but because of the first TENCHU , you will want to buy this to go out there and be a silent killer again in some new levels and story. I recommend to try the first TENCHU , before you buy TENCHU 2 and please in that order if you haven't played theses game before. So if you like to play the classics on the PLAYSTATION and you are looking for a true stealth game , then this is for you.
Tenchu 2 is the sequel on the Playstation One.... There are die hard fans who love Tenchu and won't hear a word against it. If you like Ninjas then you will probably love this game. You play as either of the two main characters; Rikimaru and Ayame, and complete various assassination/robbery missions for your clan leader. Missions are varied but i feel there are too many cave missions. Graphics are ok for the Playstation One but very blocky still. Controls are ok but the camera angles can be annoying. More annoying thatn in Tenchu. It is a classic game but the best Tenchu is Wrath of Heaven on the PS2 and PSP. This is worth checking out if you're curios but if you already have the first Tenchu on PsOne then I would pass on this.
Excellent game, have been a big fan of the Tenchu series ...for a while now. Had this game a long time ago, and decided to buy it once again. Nice game of the time with fun stage editor. A good series with a decent story line.. and above all NINJAS!!
