"The secret's in the sauce."
I wanted a book about sauces to learn how to make sauces from scratch and not buy the prepared ones from shops. This book does that exactly. It is spiral bound for ease of reading and cooking at the same time. Some sauces need more preparation time. A lot of sauces seem to include wine. The 'Light Sauces' section could've been omitted as these are the same sauces but instead of butter they use a vegetable spread. There are chapters about sauces for meat, seafood, salads, desserts, etc. It really is an interesting book to look through, but then you have to get up and do it yourself. It has really delicious pictures, and after every sauce it gives you an idea for a meal so you could all prepare it according to the sauce. I think this book to be perfect would need to mention more Indian and Chinese sauces which we all love, while it only lists one curry sauce!Read full review
