Back in 2003 The Darkness were huge in Britain thanks... to their excellent debut Permission to Land selling over a million copies here. But after the disappointing follow-up album One Way Ticket To Hell the band split. This their first album in 7 years is a little less good than the debut but better than the 2nd album and a decent enough comeback. Opener Every Inch of You is a swaggering AC-DC like belter, Nothins Gonna Stop Us and With a Woman also rock hard but with Queen and Foos like melodies present within. The album also ends with 3 great tracks - Concrete rocks hard, Street Spirit is an excellent Radiohead cover and Love is not the Answer also recalls something from Radioheads Bends album. Everybody have a good Time is another excellent rocker with plenty of melody, Living each day Blind is, for me, 1 of their best power ballads to date. Even though 3 tracks on here sound rather like fillers in comparison, this album on the whole is a good enough return to form and proof that the band could still cut it. They've put out even better albums since but this 1 is worth checking out.
