This book return...s more to the character of Ben Hope than 'Star of Africa'. Less bad language and a more compelling desire to read to the end. I enjoy the descriptions of the countries in which Scott Mariani's books are set, in fact my brother-in-law, who is also a fan of Ben Hope, follows his journeys on an atlas whilst reading one of his books.

After the Star I was expecting some serious storyline. Instead it plods... along like an oaf. You hate the nasties and hope Ben and crew can do the biz; which of course they will. Why then the title? Because it lumbers. Mariani should have gone for one big book and left out the nonsense parts. I find myself flicking along without reading to get to the end. I just really want to see how it end up now after 600+ pages of both books and I'm still not there.
