This six episode documentary is a must see for all students of photography. Looking at both the history of the art form, and it's huge variety of exponents, it will whet the apetite of amateurs to go out and do something extraordinary with their cameras.

I decided to buy this item as i had seen clips of it in my college. This dvd is the most in depth and well informed general photography reference i have ever seen. It has interviews with many of the great photographers such as Phillip Jones Griffiths, Tony Vaccaro and more recently Martin Parr. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the history of photography.

This is the movie in six parts by the BBC about the history of photography. I saw it on TV over a year ago. It explains how and why photogphary is. It tell about the people that made it what it is today. It is taken for the book "The Geniius of Photograph" by Garry Badger and makes the history of photography come alive. It talks about the photography and why they made phots.
