A gritty shocker
This is not the best film Gere has ever made but I don't think it's as bad as some reviews would have you believed. It's a very emotive subject and the filming is a little like many of that era and doesn't make any film easy to look at and it's definitely one your kids should not see. Overall it's not a really bad film and I have included it in my collection and will watch again, but it wont go on my favourite list.

The Flock was very dissappointing.
I had high expectations for this Film as it looked very appealing on a trailer that I watched. The trailer made me want to buy it so I purchased the Region 2 version. However I was not liking it much from the very beginning as it starts with flashy photography and jumpy imagery. This continues right the way through the film. The start of the film is not a good introduction to the story in the Movie. It is not a very clear plot and is hard to work out what is going on in the Film. Richard Gere's dialogue is hard to make out during some periods. Richard Gere and Claire Danes characters are quite good in this but they are seriously let down by the direction of the film. Also something I really did not like about this Movie is the colour pallet of the visuals. Most of it has a overexposed look to it which I think makes it look like amateur photography. I thought I might have got more into the film by the halfway point, but I had not. I watched it to the end and conclude the final scenes could have been more rivoting. Final Conclusion = Flashy photography, overexposed visuals and not clear what is going on some of the time. I would not recommend it to anyone. Read full review
