It's been out a while and on TV but probably one of Brosnan's bests performances. The slightly off-beat but humours tale of an ageing hit-man (Brosnan) who can't assassinate anymore. It's a not a blood and guts movie. The slightly bemused, immature and socially awkward character is no 007 look alike and it's actually better than it sounds. With a flow of amusing events and dialogue rather than belly laughs, it's the sort of film you could watch again from time to time, so one for the bookshelf. My 19 year old son recommended it and I enjoyed it too.
Rating C+. An enjoyable action/comedy. Brosnan is superb and has totally redeemed himself following his awful Moma Mia exploits.
Prepare to see the lovely Pierce Brosnan in a whole new light, forget the suave James Bond persona, this is a jaw dropping role for him and he plays it wonderfully! His portrayal of a hitman is well acted and extremely offensive, his dodgy Australian accent is more hit than miss, but it does not spoil a very fast paced entertaining film. Loved it!
lost interest in the plot and the characters after about 20 minutes Acting was only average and the whole film was really a bit of a waste of time
A classic black comedy.
I bought this DVD as a present for my brother's birthday. I had already seen it myself and found it hilarious and was sure my brother would have the same opinion. It stars Pierce Brosnan as a messed up hitman and Greg Kinnear as an average Joe who crosses paths with him. It delivers lots of laughs, and the script is intelligently written. A must for all lovers of off-beat comedy.
