The Pennine Bridleway, when complete, will run for about 350 miles (560km), and will be Britain's first purpose-built, long-distance bridleway. This book covers the southernmost section of the Bridleway, the first to be opened, starting near Buxton, in the heart of the Peak District National Park, and running north to the moors of the southern Pennines to the east of Hebden Bridge, where it splits into two to form the 47-mile (75km) Mary Towneley Loop, which has already established itself as a popular trail for horse-riders and mountain bikers.
