The greatest cowboy film ever.
From the excellent opening scenes it looks as if it's going to be a good movie, but when Pike, the gang's leader utters those chilling words; "If they move, kill 'em" you know you are in for a treat. And when this ruthless gang use inocent women as shields and trample them under their horses feet, while the lawful possee shoots anyone and everyone in a bloodlust, you know a bit of realism has been added and you're in for a real treat. Still to come is the beautifully staged train robbery and escape, culminating in the blowing up of the bridge. Towards the end of the film, the iconic walk of our four badmen as they silently go to see the General is one of the greatest pieces of cinema ever. And after they shoot him the seconds of uncertainty from all concerned, is breathtaking. The end shootout is a classic where everyone is considered a fair target. Everyone should watch this film at least once in their life. It's brilliant.Read full review
