i thought that it was really good considering it was my first time really listening to any of their songs apart from semi-charmed life. great cd to buy
Feel-good, occasionally angst-ridden (but not mawkish or simpering ever), full to the brim with amazing melodies, wonderful guitaring and a lead singer whose voice the music fits like a glove. Bought on the strength of loving the Semi-charmed Life single in '97, and it was a good decision. Jumper, How's It Going To Be, Background and God Of Wine are stand-out tracks for me. A few slightly heavier, grungier numbers which are great. Listen to it - I defy you not to be hooked. It's so good, I want to buy it again. Better at their worst than most others at their best. Their other two albums (Blue and Out of the Vein) are equally good.
