This is a book I have been searching for over a period. It is an interesting study of internal politics giving a very interesting love/hate relationship with Gresley's works and ideas. It seems strange that Thompson could so vehemently hate all things Gresley whilst being his number 2, being blind to the many failings of his own designs. Peppercorn, on the other hand, was more of a return to the status quo, but who an influx of ideas from his associates. Col. Rogers has produced an interesting book from his own knowledge of these affairs. A good supply of relevant photographs, some not recently seen, others may be newly published. Altogether, a good book.
