Everyone in the world uses some form of transport almost every day of their lives. However, transport is one of the causes of damage to our planet. This book looks at developments in transport design and use that could make it more sustainable. It also suggests some choices the reader can make on a local scale to ensure a more sustainable world.
The author, Rob Bowden, is a freelance educationalist, author and photographer specialising in environmental, development and social issues. He has taught at several British universities and written many children's books. The consultant, Dr Rodney Tolley, is Director of the Centre for Alternative and Sustainable Transport in the UK.
