- DescriptionDirector Eli Craig and co-screenwriter Morgan Jurgenson poke fun at horror cliches with this genre bending comedy about a pair of harmless backwoods hayseeds who are mistaken for vicious serial killers. Dale (Tyler Labine) and Tucker (Alan Tudyk) are checking out their newly acquired 'summer home' when they save the life of a gorgeous college student (Katrina Bowden) who's camping in the woods with some friends. When a series of misunderstandings leads to Dale and Tucker being labelled psycho killers by the vacationing students, the situation takes a sudden and ghastly turn for the worst.

Really good twist to the classic horror, very good.
Really good DVD turns the old Hollywood horror DVD on its head as you are gunning for Tucker and Dale all the way through the film without the slightest interest in the well being of the brattish college kids. really good twist.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil equals Laughs aplenty
I don't usually recommend horror-comedies so readily as they are a mixed bag. Tucker and Dale vs Evil I can wholeheartedly recommend though! Plot: Tucker & Dale, two 'hillbillies' are vacationing at their holiday home but at the same time a group of college students are hiking and camping in the woods surrounding their home. Through an hilarious set of misunderstandings they think Tucker and Dale are trying to kill them and decide to fight fire with fire. Chaos, hilarity and insanity are all par for the course, in this genuinely fun horror comedy! I absolutely loved Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk in this film, every moment with them on screen is an absolute joy and I could not stop laughing throughout. Of the two of them though it was Tyler as Dale that completely shook my expectations. The character was funny but what really made him such a fantastic part of the film was that Dale was an endearing, heartwarming character. You grow to love him throughout and really tend to take him to your heart, what a great character! Alan Tudyk as Tucker was hilarious! Given that Tudyk has enjoyed a career that is mostly steeped in comedy, here he was in his element and rose to the challenge wonderfully. Perfect as Tucker. It's when you combine Tyler and Alan though as their respective characters though and watch the scenes with them together, they are comedy gold. You will be hard pressed to find something to gripe about in the scenes where they act together. The college students are somewhat forgettable however aside from a few of them. Brandon Jay McLaren as Jason and Katrina Bowden as Alison are the better of these characters. Even the lead psycho I find hard to give kudos to as the arrogance of that character is highly off putting. Jason (Brandon J. McLaren) is a wonderfully underused character throughout. Given that he did a wonderful job in Harper's Island I was hoping he would finally get his chance but instead he was pulled back from the film a little too much which was slightly disappointing. Alison (Katrina Bowden) on the other hand was GREAT! Looks aside, she can truly act and played the role superbly. There's an innocent nature to the character you are drawn into and it's beautiful to watch. I hope she goes onto better and bigger things. The gore and music is perfectly balanced. The special effects are obviously very bloody but on the plus they don't seem fake. It's easy to overdo on gore and look out of sync but in this it fits well and is never over the top. Soundtrack: the keys used in the music are very haunting and eerie and add to the feel, the best part is when the comedy does go up a gear the music fits the scene wonderfully and just makes that moment more memorable. In a nutshell (past the long review, lol) the story is a great reverse on the usual of what is expected, the blood and guts travel freely and the characters are largely loveable. It's a laughfest from beginning to end and will have even doubters laughing into their popcorn. Give it a chance, I promise you will not be disappointed. Fantastic. Tucker and Dale vs Evil is a bloody little treat! Read full review
