I think this is undoubtedly the best compilation of the Chartbusters series, with some of most 'edgier' hits like "What's Going On" , "Ball of Confusion" and "War" which not only reflected the mood of America at that time, it showcased Motown's growing confidence and its emergence both an iconic and successful recording label. There are also some of best 'pop style' hits like "Tears of a Clown" and ballads like "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted". The running order of tracks compliments each other well, so for best effect, my advice is - don't shuffle it!
Replacing my old vinyl LPs with CDs. Great value.

I bought this CD as a replacement for an ageing cassette, which was an original produced at the time the songs were in the charts. I like CD's for convenience and the fact that they do not deteriorate like cassettes. This is to date the only CD that I have EVER bought that I like ALL the songs on. This is now complimented by further MOTOWN CHARTBUSTERS CD's.
