Tells a story of how a young boy brought up in the war-ravaged East side of London went on to become a leading journalist, then a key figure in the cruise-ship industry and finally a multi-millionaire businessman and entrepreneur in the UK and Australia.
Terry, who now lives in Cheltenham, began life on a council estate in Dagenham. His friends in that impoverished neighbourhood included George Carey (who went on to become Lord Carey, Archbishop of Canterbury) Dudley Moore (destined for Hollywood stardom)and the famous British entertainer, Max Bygraves. Terry's climb to success included covering two World Cups as a soccer journalist and ghosting his good friend Geoff Hurst's column (later to become Sir Geoffrey Hurst) before becoming Group Editor in Chief of Greater London and Essex Newspapers before the age of 30. A complete change of career saw him become Commodore on an ocean liner and then buying such diverse businesses as a vineyard, a golf course, a peat mine, a sandmine and yet more travel and publishing interests.
