A Norwegian investigative journalist tells us the tale of how Royal Navy X-craft midget submarines attacked the German battleship Tirpitz in Norway. Although Tirpitz was not sunk she was put out of action until April 1944. Did the submarines actually penetrate the anti-submarine defences around Tirpitz?
ALF R. JACOBSEN is an award-winning Norwegian investigative journalist and author of more than twenty books. In 2000, Jacobsen led the expedition that found and filmed the wreck of the German battle cruiser Scharnhorst. The resultant book was published in English by Sutton in 2003.
