I remember watching these films originally and not thinking too much about them. After all, it was typical Marvel fare: Enjoyable superhero stories with one or two social messages After some years it dawned on me that I hadn't seen either of these films in a while and that I would like to watch them again and I can report I'm glad I did. There's only one message that rings out loud and clear from either of these movies and it's this: Prejudice. Color prejudice, racial prejudice, class prejudice you name it, it's there and X-Men handles these issues very well. Sirs Stewart and McKellern, as you would expect, are excellent in their opposing roles and the supporting cast are also first-rate. I'm not sure whether Hugh Jackman meant this or not, but I could almost feel Wolverine's pain at being rejected just for being different. Rogue's life-changing, decision (or is it sacrifice?!) is also note worthy. The Blu-rays are excellent with lots and lots of color with The Beast looking particularly striking in blue. There's nothing lost at all in any of these transfers. The DTS Master sound track is especially involving. So, if you want three good reasons as to why intolerance should NOT be accepted, at any level, you could do a lot worse looking somewhere else. Trust me. Recommended.Read full review
Great box set of the X-Men on blu ray and very entertaining, I am getting stuck for space now, it comes with 6 discs and lots of features well worth the money I paid and I would recommend these.

The boxset is smartly packaged in a extra large bluray case and clear plastic slip case - the packaging is much better then the quadrilogy set which is just 4 blurays in a flimsy cardboard box. I already had wolverine and so didn't want the quadrilogy set, having said that be careful with the pricing as this set is often more expensive than the quadrilogy set, so if you only want the 3 films make sure to shop around or you will pay over the odds. Picture and sound on all three films is a step up from the dvd releases. Would recommend but only at the right price.
