About us

Cycle Roots is a not for profit CIC, set up by volunteers, trading since February 2015 from our workshop is located at Unit 1, Carlisle Street, Blackburn, BB1 1DJ.

Our aims:
• To collect unused/unloved bicycles and repair to a safe sellable standard or recycle parts for other bikes, reducing waste from landfill.
• To engage local residents as volunteers and trainees, building skills, knowledge, confidence, and enhancing employability.
• To improve social inclusion by selling, servicing and repairing bicycles at low cost to low income families.
• To promote cycling to improve the health and well-being of the people of Blackburn with Darwen, Lancashire.
