About us

Leeds Bike Mill is a community bike recycling and training co-op, established in 2014. We are not-for-profit and provide affordable, fully serviced bicycles to people in the community and deliver a range of training courses in bike maintenance.

We provide second hand parts that have been discarded or donated; diverting them from landfill to save energy and resources. We want to provide people with affordable transport, as well as the opportunity to improve physical and emotional health and well-being through regular cycling.

Leeds Bike Mill is a worker’s co-operative, run by our team of five part-time mechanics. Each of us began learning bike maintenance skills in different ways – from learning as a kid, to practising on our own bikes, to volunteering in bike projects, and progressing on to complete Cytech L2 or equivalent cycle mechanic qualifications, as well as the Cycle Mainte
